About Us: Our Story
Our Story
As a young adult—and even into early parenthood—I really struggled with financial responsibility. I didn’t have the tools. I didn’t have the teaching. I didn’t have an example. What I did have was a deep desire for something different than what I’d grown up with. I didn’t want to live paycheck to paycheck, stressed and stuck. I wanted stability. I wanted dignity. I wanted a chance to succeed in a way I had never seen done before.
Eventually, life forced a shift. I hit a moment where I knew: Something has to change. I needed to feel secure in my own skin. I needed to know how to manage what little I had. I needed to believe that I could build something lasting—not just for me, but for my family.
That’s when it all clicked. Financial literacy wasn’t just about numbers—it was about freedom. And I realized that if I could just understand my money and use it wisely, everything else would start to fall into place. That’s also when I realized the power of having a place to call my own. A home. That feeling is hard to explain unless you’ve gone without it. But once I had it, I knew—I had to help other people get there too.
Feritas LLC
That dream is what gave birth to Feritas LLC. The name comes from the Latin phrase Ferae Res Amplectere—which means “Embrace the Wild Things.” And that’s what I’m doing. I’m taking all the wild things from my past—the chaos, the setbacks, the lessons—and I’m building something beautiful out of them.
Feritas is designed to serve everyday people like me who want more than survival. We invest in communities by:
- Acquiring and rehabbing underutilized houses so people can find a home.
- Offering real-life coaching—financial literacy, business basics, and confidence-building.
- Providing affordable, practical bookkeeping services and financial education to help individuals and small businesses gain control of their future.
The goal is simple: build stable, equity-driven communities where people can succeed, flourish, and transcend.
